Coaching vs. Therapy

Mary's services are coaching-based, not therapy-based. This is an important distinction:

Coaching Focuses On:

  • Current situations and future goals
  • Building skills and capabilities
  • Achieving personal or professional objectives
  • Personal growth and development
  • Self-awareness and clarity

Therapy Focuses On:

  • Mental health diagnosis and treatment
  • Healing from trauma or mental illness
  • Clinical assessment and intervention
  • Deep psychological or emotional trauma work
  • Medical or psychiatric conditions

Client Responsibility

If you are experiencing mental health concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, or any clinical condition, you are responsible for seeking appropriate professional help from a licensed mental health provider.

Assess whether coaching is appropriate for your current situation
Seek professional mental health treatment if needed
Do not rely on coaching as a substitute for therapy or medical care
Communicate any mental health concerns to Mary upfront
Seek immediate emergency services if experiencing a mental health crisis
Take responsibility for all decisions and outcomes in your life

When to Seek Professional Help

Consider seeking professional mental health treatment if you experience:

Persistent sadness, hopelessness, or depression
Severe anxiety or panic attacks
Intrusive thoughts or obsessive patterns
